How we workEthiopia

For over a decade, Digital Green has worked with Ethiopia’s agricultural extension system to enhance its services for rural communities. Because subject matter specialists and development agents regularly share critical agriculture extension advisories with small-scale farmers, we train them in scalable and cost-effective technologies that increase their effectiveness, efficiency, and impact. Our technologies are designed for inclusivity and climate resilience, reaching farmers where they are and providing them with tools to increase productivity, income, and resilience. Our work in Ethiopia covers agriculture, natural resource management, and livelihoods diversification, with a primary focus on women and young people.

Digital Green works in partnership with the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), the Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI), and regional bureaus of agriculture in Amhara, Oromia, and Sidama as well as in Central Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, and South West Ethiopia Regional States. We also work with the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), the CGIAR system, notably CIAT and CIMMYT, and with a consortium of project partners, such as PxD, ECFF. These long-standing partnerships are instrumental in ensuring the sustainability and scalability of our innovative development models, technologies, and services offered to farmers.
